By creating an account, using hellobill, approving an action, starting a paid service or setting up a payment method, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are
hellobill is a household administration service provided by THE-BUNCH LIMITED. hellobill is not a separate legal entity.
You can contact us at:
- Support: help@hellobill.com
- Complaints: complaints@hellobill.com
- Data protection / DPO: dpo@hellobill.com
- Postal address: C/O The-Bunch Limited, Spectrum, Bond Street, Bristol, England, BS1 3LG
2. What hellobill does
hellobill helps with household administration. This may include monitoring household admin signals, preparing reminders, comparing or organising supplier information, helping you contact suppliers, preparing forms, supporting switches, supporting cancellations, and helping with payment setup where you approve this.
The hellobill app is the free interface used to manage the hellobill service. Fees charged by THE-BUNCH LIMITED relate to real-world household administration services, not to digital content, virtual goods, in-app consumables or app-only features.
3. What hellobill is not
Unless we clearly tell you otherwise:
- hellobill is not your energy, broadband, water, council tax, insurance, banking or other supplier;
- supplier contracts are between you and the relevant supplier;
- supplier prices, contract terms, service quality, complaints handling and performance remain the supplier's responsibility;
- cancelling hellobill does not automatically cancel supplier contracts, supplier debts, Direct Debits or other payment obligations with third parties;
- hellobill does not provide legal, financial, insurance, investment, mortgage, pension, credit or regulated financial advice.
THE-BUNCH LIMITED is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to provide regulated financial advice, insurance distribution, credit broking, investment services or other FCA-regulated services through hellobill. Where regulated payment or Open Banking services are used, they are provided by the relevant regulated payment or Open Banking provider, such as GoCardless, unless we expressly tell you otherwise.
4. Eligibility and authority
You must be at least 18 years old to use hellobill.
You must have authority over the account, property, household matter, supplier account, payment method or service that you ask hellobill to help with. If a service belongs to another household member, that person must approve any action that affects their contract, account or payment arrangement.
If ownership or authority is unclear, hellobill may provide information, prepare a draft or ask for clarification, but it will not carry out supplier-facing, contract-changing, money-changing or payment-setup actions until the required authority is confirmed.
5. Bill and first-person language
Bill may use first-person language such as "I" or "me" in the app or messages to make the service easier to use. Bill is not a separate legal person. Your legal relationship is with THE-BUNCH LIMITED.
6. Action tiers and authority
hellobill uses an action-tier model. The details are set out in Schedule 1.
In summary:
- Tier 0: Bill informs or explains.
- Tier 1: Bill reminds, watches or tracks.
- Tier 2: Bill carries out assisted admin using a scoped Letter of Authority.
- Tier 3: Bill carries out an action that may change money, contracts, services or payment setup only after explicit action consent.
Accepting these Terms does not by itself authorise Tier 2 or Tier 3 actions. Tier 2 and Tier 3 require separate action-level authority.
7. Proactive monitoring and suggestions
hellobill may monitor signals connected to your household administration, such as renewal dates, supplier changes, deadlines, price changes, reminders, connected-account information or tasks you ask Bill to watch.
Bill may use those signals to remind you, tell you, suggest an action, prepare information or ask whether you want to proceed.
Proactive monitoring and suggestions do not authorise Bill to contact a third party, submit information, switch supplier, cancel a service, set up a payment arrangement, enter a contract or take a money-changing action. Those steps require the relevant Tier 2 or Tier 3 approval.
8. Secure authorised access methods
Where you authorise us to help with a supplier or third-party account, we may use secure authorised access methods to read, submit or update information for the task you approved. This may include access through APIs, partner integrations, supplier systems, user-authorised account access, automated tools or human-assisted processes.
We only use these methods within the scope of your authority, the account or service shown to you, and the action you approved.
9. Payments, subscriptions and PAYA fees
Pricing, payment, refunds, GoCardless and Open Banking are explained in Schedule 2.
Before you approve a paid action, we will show the fee and the action we are asking you to authorise.
10. Cooling-off and cancellation
When you first buy a paid hellobill service online, you normally have a 14-day cooling-off period. For services, this period usually starts on the day after the contract is entered into.
You can cancel during the cooling-off period by contacting help@hellobill.com or complaints@hellobill.com, or by using any cancellation method we make available in the app.
You may use the following cancellation wording if you want to cancel during the cooling-off period:
You can cancel a monthly subscription at any time. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
If you ask us to start a paid service or PAYA task during the cooling-off period, we may ask you to confirm that you want us to start now. If that task is fully completed during the cooling-off period after you asked us to start, you may lose the right to cancel that completed task once it has been fully performed.
Cancellation of hellobill does not automatically cancel supplier contracts, supplier debts, Direct Debits or other arrangements with third parties.
11. AI-assisted service
hellobill uses AI-assisted tools and operational controls. AI output may be incomplete or inaccurate. We use controls such as fixed action cards, authority gates, human review, action history, audit records and escalation routes to reduce risk.
You remain responsible for checking information shown to you before approving an action.
12. Marketing and service messages
We may send service messages about your account, actions, reminders, security, payment status or support requests.
Marketing, partner offers, cross-sell and winback messages are sent only where we have the required consent or another lawful basis. You can change your marketing preferences or unsubscribe from marketing messages.
13. Data protection
Our Privacy Notice explains how we process personal data, including connected-account data, household memory, AI processing, suppliers, subprocessors, GoCardless/Open Banking and action evidence.
Our Cookie and Tracking Notice explains how we use cookies, SDKs, pixels, analytics and similar technologies.
14. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- provide accurate, current and complete information;
- only ask hellobill to act where you have authority;
- review action summaries before approving them;
- keep your account secure;
- tell us promptly if something looks wrong;
- not misuse hellobill, attempt to bypass controls, or use hellobill for unlawful activity.
15. Liability
We are responsible for providing the hellobill service with reasonable care and skill and for acting within the authority you give us.
We are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate information you provide, actions you approve after we have shown you the relevant action information, supplier acts or omissions, supplier price or service changes, or third-party systems outside our reasonable control.
For ordinary paid hellobill services, our total liability will be limited to the greater of the fees you paid to us for hellobill services in the 12 months before the claim or £500.
For a Tier 3 action where we are legally responsible because we materially failed to act with reasonable care and skill, acted outside your authority, or carried out a materially different action from the one you approved, our total liability will be limited to the greater of the fees you paid to us for hellobill services in the 12 months before the claim or £2,500.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.
16. Complaints, disputes and ADR
You can contact us at complaints@hellobill.com. Our complaints and disputes page explains how we handle complaints, action disputes, refund requests, requests for action evidence, data rights and alternative dispute resolution.
17. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or limit your access if we reasonably believe there is misuse, fraud, security risk, lack of authority, unlawful activity, unpaid fees, or a serious risk to you, another household member, a supplier or our systems.
You may cancel your subscription, pause Bill, revoke authority, disconnect suppliers or request account deletion through the app or by contacting support.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you before they take effect. Continued use of hellobill after the effective date means the updated Terms apply.
19. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live in another part of the UK, you may also have rights to bring proceedings in your local courts where consumer law gives you that right.
